STAGE
I'm a director and writer, working across new writing, classics, devising and opera. I love making new theatre from real-life stories, and bringing old stories to life. Music and a spirit of celebration sits at the heart of all my work.
My recent performances include Back into the World a new play currently on a 30 date national tour, When We Collide commissioned by Sky Arts and performed at The Barbican, Sage Gateshead and Snape Maltings, Paradise Planet commissioned by English Touring Opera, West Side Story an immersive performance at the Savoy Hotel, and Sister developed for Spitalfields Music Festival and Ovalhouse Theatre.
My artistic development has been supported by Snape Maltings (Open Space Scheme), Bristol Old Vic (Ferment), and The Arts Foundation Fellowship (Nominee 2018)
As an assistant director I have recently worked on Invisible Cities for 59 Productions, Rambert and Manchester International Festival. I have also worked as an AD at Scottish Opera, Glyndebourne, Welsh National Opera, Regents Park Open Air Theatre, English Touring Opera, Opera Holland Park, Linbury Studio Theatre and Longborough Festival Opera.
I regularly work with composer Alex Groves as Hanbury and Groves.
SCREEN
Alongside my stage work, I work as a script editor on Casualty. I'm passionate about developing new stories and introducing theatre talent to screenwriting.
